It does not escape my acknowledgement and understanding that
I write a blog that is viewed on a global scale, that I am a woman and this is
Women’s History Month. It does not go
unnoticed that I host a radio show from a southern state in the United States
of American with listeners as far away as Bosnia and in February we celebrated African
American History Month. We've come a long way.
I get it. I am cognizant of the fact that others sacrificed so that I can
do the things that I do. I have fully connected
with the concept that the struggle of others allows me the liberties I enjoy
today. I understand that it is because
of others that I get to have these experiences and a multitude of others.
I know that I did not get where I am today on my own. I know that I will arrive at the next stop on my journey on the backs of many. There is nothing about me that has not been
shaped by the commitment and at the cost of others.
This month is Women’s History Month and I openly share my gratitude for
the men and women who gave of themselves so that I could live freely today.
Thank you!
